Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your SwapZen account and the personal data associated with it at any time. For your security, account deletion can only be performed by the account holder after identity verification.

1. Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest way to delete your account:

Open the SwapZen app → Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Review the consequences, type DELETE to confirm, and verify the request with the one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered phone number. Your account is deactivated immediately, and your personal data is permanently removed within the timelines described below.

2. Can’t sign in? Request deletion by email

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by writing to support@swapzen.in from the email address or phone number registered on your account, with the subject line “Delete my SwapZen account.” We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data, including:

Your login and profile — name, email, phone number, saved addresses, and city.
Your active listings — hidden from the marketplace immediately, then removed.
Your messages and support conversations conducted through the platform.
Your notification and communication preferences.

You will be signed out from this device and all other devices. This action cannot be undone.

4. What we retain, and for how long

We delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data within 30 days of your request. The only exceptions are records we are legally required to keep, which are retained solely for legal and regulatory compliance and are not used for any other purpose:

Transaction, payment, and payout records — retained for a minimum of 8 years, as required under Indian tax and accounting laws.
Dispute records — retained for up to 3 years after resolution.
Past order history — retained in anonymised form (delinked from your identity) for compliance and platform-integrity purposes.

To protect the marketplace against fraud and abuse, the phone number and email address associated with a deleted account cannot be used to create a new SwapZen account. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
